Beat Caduff and Hitsch Leu were already great friends at school and swore that one day they would create something great together in Arosa.
It took a long time, but now they have finally been given the chance and they have seized it: the two present a new concept for the beautiful, traditional Alpenblick, the cozy mountain restaurant at the foot of the Arosa Hörnli.
The Cadufferli are back in Arosa!
Beat Caduff, born and raised in Arosa, practically in the kitchen of the family hotel A-nita, cooked so well there for so long that he was soon drawn to Zurich.
For 22 years, he ran the Wine Loft, where he delighted his guests with a combination of excellent cooking and a phenomenal wine cellar.
Hitsch Leu, on the other hand, stayed in Arosa, became a hotelier at the Hotel Eden with its dazzling Kitchen Club and has now been the landlord of the Hörnlihütte for a few years, where things really get going during the season.
In the meantime, the two have grown a little older, but not really calmer; they are as passionate as ever about food, drink and hospitality.
In any case, it didn’t take Hitsch long to convince the early retired wine and cooking maestro of his new concept at Alpenblick.
That’s why Caduff’s legendary creations are now returning to Arosa.
At Alpenblick, specialties from the aromatic Alpine cuisine are reinterpreted and served in style, including, of course, the successful classics such as Cadufferli (fabulous hacktätschli), duck liver in ice wine (where else but here, at icy heights!) and the sophisticated ravioli with seasonal fillings.

Beat and Hitsch will not miss the opportunity to make frequent appearances at the Alpenblick themselves. Especially in the fall, when the fog envelops the Weisshorn, the hunting horn calls and the hunting master chef is eager to present wonderful game dishes not far from his hunting grounds. Naturally with the matching wine from the open cellar, where 200 great wines from Caduff’s legendary collection await in addition to the normal wine list.
