The Alpenblick is still a farmhouse with a cowshed.
It is said that freshly milked milk was sold to guests from this year onwards and the Alpenblick quickly developed into a small mountain restaurant.
Our history
191O
1928
Big things happened this year.
The farm was closed down and a large extension was built.
A kitchen was built in the old cowshed and the first guest rooms were set up on the upper floor.
In winter, the Alpenblick was reopened as a mountain hotel and restaurant.
1938
Shortly before the Second World War, the restaurant was extended to include today’s Caduff Stube and further hotel rooms were built.
Since then, the structure of the hotel has hardly changed.
1949
The Alpenblick was acquired by Mary Stucky – an exceptional hostess.
She shaped the Alpenblick for decades and made it one of Arosa’s most popular addresses.
1958
Mary and her husband Thomas painstakingly build the large wall in front of the house to create space for a proper terrace.
The new centerpiece of the Alpenblick is still in operation today.
1981
Mary Stucky sells the Alpenblick to Ruth & Ferdi Moro, her longstanding management staff, and retires.
Under the new management, the restaurant continues to develop strongly and remains one of the most popular excursion destinations on the mountain.
1985
The hotel is closed, the rooms become staff rooms for the ever-growing workforce.
2O15
Ruth & Ferdi Moro go into well-deserved retirement and sell the business to the Berchtolsheimer family.
The restaurant is taken over by Michel Péclard and modernized.
2O2O
The old part of the hotel is completely renovated and the hotel is reopened after 35 years.
The restaurant and terrace are also given a facelift and the Alpenblick builds on its long history as a traditional mountain restaurant and hotel.
